With owners born in Italy, Il Bel Paese is a restaurant that brings authentic Italian cuisine to Brooklyn, both dine-in and delivery. Offering generous portions at affordable prices and focused on serving the local community, the restaurant decided it was time to expand and open a new location. With that came the need to update its visual identity to ensure a more modern and consistent communication with its audience.

A sans-serif typeface was chosen to convey sophistication, balancing strong lines with smooth curves—communicating both knowledge and tradition. To build a stronger connection with the audience and add a handcrafted, human touch, the font was customized. The customization of the letter A makes a subtle reference to the shape of Italy, the founders’ country of origin. The letter S was also refined to add even more exclusivity to the logo.
